Oak Park Preemption Resolution

Jul 22, 2016 | FIFRA, Human Health, Pesticides, Preemption: State, Regulation | 0 comments

In our 2016 petition to the Oak Park Village Board of Trustees, one of the requests was that the Board adopt a resolution calling on the Illinois General Assembly to repeal the section of the Illinois Pesticide Act which preempts counties and municipalities (even those with home rule powers) from regulating pesticides more stringently than does the state. This is a draft of such a resolution which we are currently discussing with members of the Village Board.
